Dr. Lourie Moore serves as the Administrative Director of Nursing Knowledge Management at Harris Health System in Houston, Texas. Her scope of responsibilities includes the nursing professional practice model, shared governance, nursing clinical advanced program, leadership development, strategic planning, nursing education, and information management/communication. She earned her bachelor of science in nursing degree from Houston Baptist University, masters of science in nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, and a doctor of nursing practice degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She is board certified as an advanced nurse executive.
She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing - Zeta Phi chapter, the American Nurses Association, and the Texas Nurses Association – District 9. She was a recipient of the 2017 TNA District 9 Top 20 Outstanding Nurses Award and the 2016 Good Samaritan Foundation Excellence in Nursing Award-Bronze Level.
During her 31+year nursing career, she has served in leadership positions including nurse manager, assistant department head, and chief nurse executive. Additional roles include perinatal clinical nurse specialist, clinical educator, director of education and training, deputy program director for medical management, and consultant for obstetrical nursing to the Air Force Surgeon General. She holds an adjunct faculty position at the University of St. Thomas School of Nursing. Dr. Moore retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2009 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel after 21 ½ years of service. She is married to Richard Moore and has daughter, Marissa married to JD Walt, and son, Scott.
